Consider fashion prints during the late 1800's from La Mode Illustree or Belle Assemble for an earlier time in period frames. These prints are so nice they are fine in any style home. The delightful scenes are mostly woman and children in fashionable dress.
La Mode Illustree was considered one of the finest Victorian fashion publications of the late 1800’s. Each issue contained various articles about sophisticated life in that period. Highlighting an issue was the hand colored prints from Paris of latest fashion styles. The prints were beautifully hand colored usually with women and children elegantly dressed and with various period backgrounds.
La Belle Assemblée is best known for its fashion plates of Regency era styles. Each issue of La Belle Assemblée typically contained five colored plates—one depicting a member of the court or fashionable society, two depicting the latest London and Paris fashions, and a further two providing sheet music and a sewing pattern.
Beautiful color plates by Francois Courboin depicting women's fashion throughout the nineteenth century.
An interesting series of Paris fashions from yesteryear.
